With regards to Friday night's show, Xiu Xiu was less than impressive. I remember when I saw them at Neumo's in Seattle touring their La Foret album and how amazing the songs were to hear live. Apparently The Air Force which I have yet to sit down and listen to, has gone over the deep end with the "experimental" aspect to the concept of "experimental indie." Too many banging on random cymbals for this band. Plus Jamie Stewart's lyrics were practically unintelligible in a live venue. It sort of just sounded like he was whimpering. How sad...
