i'll bring the tupperware, you bring the plates

otherwise known as strategic picnic planning, i'm convinced that splenda is the devil's doing.

bora bora breeze

stinky cheese yellow.
kermit green.
fresh asphalt.

this study was great- something that i have noticed in the past with myself, and by the sounds of the results, with a lot of other people.
as a side note: 3 cheers for the experiments showing that people actually like to figure stuff out!

unfinished business.

or is it unfinished leisure?
whatever it's called, here are a few things that need taking care of before i leave seattle- wanna join me?

1. operation bike rider: so i suppose before i become the mad austin cyclist that i plan on being, i should probably take my sweet hybrid out for a spin. you know, buy it dinner, take it to the movies, pump up her tires . . .
2. financial aid, my bff: whoever said asking for something (12 times) wouldn't get you what you wanted? yes, my tentative plan is to get on the phone with ut's financial aid and get money from them, err, i mean become best buds with them.
3. alki beach park: u.s.e. sang about it, seattlites rave about it, and it just so happens to also be the site of the landing of the first white settlers in seattle- why have i not been?! i don't know, but the fact that it's in west seattle might have a little to do with it. . . i'm referring to the drive, really i am.
4. i heart pocahontas: because i'm totally 0.5 native american. admittedly, not the same kind of indian pocahontas was but i do enjoy canoeing. canoeing on lake washington, anyone?
5. chataeu st. michelle winery: because nothing beats a hangover at 3pm on a sunday afternoon. especially when you are all the way out in woodinville.
6. oh, friends: yes, yes, yes. my friends are cool. and i want to hang out with them. maybe so much infact, i will tire of them and be happy not to see them for an entire 2 years. fat chance.

anything else?

you say frisco, i say f*ck off.

apparently there is no frisco, ca. that is unless you have lived here all of your life, sold your soul to the s.f. devil or are a washed-up, pizza-eating punk rocker floating around the castro district. ignorant l.a. persons need not apply. (sorry, inside joke folks)

san francisco trip with ryan was awesome. 4 fun filled days of mid-80 degree weather, cloudless skies and that sort of wind where your coat is on/off of you every 10 minutes. i was seriously impressed with the city, though. our day trips included the mission district, haight/ashbury, parts of downtown and, the nicest (in my opinion), an excursion out to berkeley. word of advice for berkeley go-ers: pee before you leave home.

we had steve, jerome and jessica acting as our tour guides for the first few days which was cool. i'm totally down with tours. most tours. that is, tours that don't include being driven through random downtowns at obnoxiously slow speeds while the natives of whatever city stare up at you like you have goiters all over your out-of-town-face. . . but rest assure, they didn't lead us on that sort of tour. are days were really fun, actually. we walked or took the MUNI everywhere- which, while we're on the topic, is just (another!) one other reason seattle is less cool than sf. mass transit, hello? a few of our nights we visited the boys' local bar the page, and one of those nights we saw jason lee! he was in a bar! the same bar we were in! a famous person! a funny, famous person at that. yep, it was pretty cool.

and that about sums up sf2005 . . . i had a relaxing time, saw more of san francisco, and met pretty cool people. sambuca anyone?
